By Shubhrima Dutta, Kolkata, Feb 25 : Film director Sumit Das, along with his cast, on Monday launched the music of their upcoming Bengali film, 'Jijibisha', here.
The story of the film revolves around the character of a call girl that is played by Sreelekha Mitra.
The film reflects the journey of this woman through abuses, conflicts and turbulence and her struggle to keep her head high against the oppressions of the society.
Commenting on the film, the director said, "The meaning of the title of the film, 'Jijibisha' is to live life all over again. The story of my film is about a call girl and her wishes to live the life of a normal girl. This is a family drama that has a modern touch in it."
Sayani Dutta plays a modern girl living in New York.
Joy Sengupta plays the role of a corporate guy and Soumitra Chatterjee plays the role of a retired professor.
Sayani Dutta, who plays the role of a modern girl, said, "I am playing a New York return girl and the girlfriend of Joy Sengupta. I feel myself blessed to work with such big actors. All the songs, especially the Sufi song are well placed in the film."
Music director Debojyoti Bose said, "The songs in the film suits the script of the film which is a triangular love story. Shompa and Disha are the two girls who gave their voice for the songs. Raghav sang the Sufi song very nicely. For the first time, I have been picturized in a song. And this experience is very memorable for me."
The film is all set to hit the theatres in May.
