Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief K Chandrasekhara Rao met Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi here on Monday.

He is expected to meet President Pranab Mukherjee later on Monday.

Rao on Sunday met Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi giving rise to speculations of a possible political realignment.

"No politics was discussed and it was only a thanksgiving call. I met Soniaji to express my gratitude for the passing of Telangana Bill in Parliament," Rao told media after the meeting.

He said Sonia asked him to stay in touch with All India Congress Committee General Secretary Digvijaya Singh.

"Soniaji asked me to stay in touch with Digvijaya Singh," Rao said.

Rao said that he will stay in the capital for some more time to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the President.

Amid ruckus, uproars and walkouts, the Parliament has finally passed the controversial Telangana Bill, paving way for the creation of the 29th Indian state with only the President now required to put his signature in the paper to make the Bill a law.
