Mumbai: DGCA grounds US plane
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) grounded a Boeing 777 aircraft of American carrier United Airlines (UA) in Mumbai after a major damage in its right engine cover was detected, said reports on Saturday.
The incident took place on Thursday night.
According to sources in DGCA, the aircraft's lower cowl was missing.
Pertinently, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the national aviation authority of the United States, recently downgraded Indian civil aviation to category 2 in aviation safety.
