'Underrated' Siddle proving to be 'nemesis' for world's elite batsmen: Report
Australian fast bowler Peter Siddle, who is often overlooked now that Mitchell Johnson has burst into the scene, is however, proving to be a nemesis for some of the world's elite batsmen, according to a report.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the right-armer's hold over sacked England batsman Kevin Pietersen has been widely discussed, having dismissed the batsman ten times in 17 Tests, when no other bowler has dismissed him more than six times.
The report mentioned that Siddle has also thrived against South Africans AB de Villiers and Hashim Amla, who occupy the top two rungs on the world Test batting rankings, with De Villiers falling to Siddle six times in 11 Tests.
The report further said that the only specialist South African batsman not to lose his wicket to Johnson in Centurion, Amla was however, a victim of Siddle in the first innings, taking the resilient Victorian's record to five dismissals in 11 Tests.
