Second Test ends in draw, New Zealand win series
India's Virat Kohli smashed a gutsy 105 and assured that the second Test match between India and New Zealand end in a draw here on Tuesday.
New Zealand, however won the Test series 1-0.
New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum smashed a triple century to take the lead to 435 runs, which India needed to score to win the match on the last day.
India got off to a disastrous start and and lost three quick wickets of
Murali Vijay (7), Shikhar Dhawan (2), Cheteshwar Pujara (17).
Kohli and Rohit Sharma (31*) added 112 runs in the fourth wicket partnership to end the match in a draw.
India were 166 for three at the end of the day.
New Zealand and specifically their skipper maintained their strong performance on the last two days of the Test after India had dominated on the first three days.
Resuming the day at 571 for six, New Zealand declared at 680 for eight on Tuesday.
McCullum's magnificent knock of 302 was finally ended by Zaheer Khan.
Jimmy Neesham also scored a gutsy 137 with his willow.
Khan picked up five wickets for India.
New Zealand won the Test series 1-0 and the ODI series 4-0.
