Mamata defends Anubrata Mandal

Durgapur, Feb 15 : West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday backed controversial party leader Anubrata Mandal who had last year threatened to chop off the wrists of rival Congress party worker.

"You can see Keshto (Anubrata Mandal) is sitting here. Several people are after him. But I want to say that he is a good organiser and he his working well. I am ready to go to the last for a good organiser," Banerjee said while addressing a party convention here.

"He has a problem. Mostly people do not know that he often needs oxygen support. We cannot be inhuman towards him," she said.

TMC's Birbhum district president Anubrata Mandal had last year triggered a controversy as he threatened to chop off the wrists of rival Congress party worker's if they try to pull down the hoardings of his party supremo.
