South Africa's right-arm fast bowler Morne Morkel has been cleared of a shoulder injury and has returned to its pace attack after missing the start of day two of the First Test being played at the Centurion cricket ground to have scans.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Morkel returned to the field shortly before lunch and sent down the 110th over. His height makes him one of the home side's more threatening bowlers on a bouncy pitch.

Dale Steyn was the pick of the Proteas' bowlers, claiming 4-78 off 29 overs, including the wickets of Australian skipper Michael Clarke and opener David Warner.

Former West Indian fast bowler and now commentator Michael Holding has described Morkel as a good bowler who can create some difficulties for the Australian batters as the Test progresses.
