Announcing an accretion to solar power in India, power backup manufacturer Su-Kam Monday said it has commissioned a 90 KW solar power plant for state-run Engineers India Ltd's (EIL) building in Gurgaon, Haryana.

The state-of-the-art "grid tie solar photovoltaic system on the rooftop of the EIL building shall generate over 125,000 units of electricity per year thereby helping EIL save over Rs.10 lakh (one million) in electricity consumption annually", Su-Kam said in a press release here.

The entire system comprises three 30 KW grid tie string inverters, each fitted with 300 solar panels, it added.

The company said the solar system, which was commissioned Dec 28 last year, was completed in a record time of four weeks.
