Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee here and discussed the the formation of a federal front.

Naidu met Banerjee in the state secretariat Nabanna.

Naidu called the meeting as 'positive'.

Amidst speculations of a Third Front, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday met former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) chief Deve Gowda and Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) general secretary Prakash Karat in Delhi.

Speaking about the meeting, the Bihar CM told reporters that it was an informal interaction.

"It wasn't a formal meeting, we had an informal interaction for non-Congress, non-BJP front, a formal meeting will take place later," Kumar said.

Prakash Karat told reporters that, "Nitish was in Delhi so we discussed how should we take this non-Congress non-BJP front forward."

Nitish had arrived in Delhi on Sunday and is scheduled to stay in the national capital till Tuesday.

Earlier, Nitish Kumar and Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav made a pitch for the formation of the Third Front.
