International Conference on Open and Distance Learning in Global Environment

Mysore, Sep 14: A three-day International Confrence on Open and Distance Learning in Global Environment, organised by Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), the third largest Open University in the country, will be held here from September 21.

More than 500 delegates from India and abroad are expected to participate in the academic exercise, Conference Chairman and KSOU Vice Chancellor K S Rangappa told newsmen here today.

He said Vice Chancellors of all Open Universities from across the world were expected to participate in the Conference which aims to bring together administrators, practitioners, academicians, policy makers and researchers from different parts of the world.

The conference would also explore the contributions on Open and Distance learning at the global level.

Karnataka Governor Hans Raj Bhardwaj, who is the Chancellor of University will preside over the Conference, which IGNOU Vice Chancellor Prof V N Rajshekharan Pillai will inaugurate. Sir John Daniel- President and Chief Executive Officer Commonwealth of Learning, Canada, will deliver the keynote address.

Prof Rangappa said KSOU would launch online courses for the MBA from this academic year and expected to enrol nearly 500 candidates. (UNI -Posted on / )
