Statue of veteran film actress Savitri unveiled
Vijayawada, Aug 31 : The statue of veteran film actress, late Savitri, was unveiled by Tamil actress Vanisri in the premises of Tummalapalli Auditorium, here today.
Recalling her association with Savitri, Vanisri lauded Savitri's versatility saying the state actress acted in a number of Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada films.
She said installing the statue of a woman from film industry was perhaps happening for the first time.
BJP Senior Leader M Venkaiah Naidu, Savitri's daughter Vijaya Chamundeswari Devi, Congress Leader Mandali Buddha Prasad, Savitri Kalaparishat President Paruchuri Vijayalakshmi and host of prominent persons attended the programme. (UNI -Posted on / )
