Swine flu case in MP

Damoh, MP, July 28 :A Rampur village-resident school student has tested positive for the extremely-contagious swine flu.

Deep Singh -- the father of Dharmendra Thakur (17) -- told UNI over telephone from Nagpur that his son is undergoing treatment at that city's Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) where he was admitted today.

"A test confirmed the disease but as we do not have full arrangements for treatment the patient was shifted to GMCH," a private hospital's Dr Mahesh Deshmukh said over phone from Nagpur.

On Tuesday, the lad -- who was suffering constant fever -- was taken to a private hospital here from where he was referred to Jabalpur and then to Nagpur. The school management announced holidays until Sunday as a precautionary measure.

"We are gathering information regarding the case," said District Chief Medical and Health Officer Santosh Shukla. (UNI -Posted on / )
