Six member gang arrested for burglary in primary schools

Vijayawada, Jul 9 : Police arrested a six-member gang who stole computers, TVs and other electronic gadgets worth Rs 5 lakh from various government primary schools in Gannavaram Mandalam in Krishna district.

Addressing a press conference here, Deputy Commissioner of Police M Ravindranath Babu said the gang used to target government schools for the burglary when they were closed for holidays.

He said 21 LCD monitors, seven UPSs and an equal number of CPUs, servers and converters, and one printer, two television sets and other electronic gadgets were recovered from them.

One of the accused, G Sitaramaiah(25) was an MSc Post Graduate working as a lecturer. All the accused were produced before a local court today, he said. (UNI -Posted on / )
