Old age home at Bindapur in Delhi to be ready by July 18

New Delhi, Jul 8 : Delhi Social Welfare Minister Kiran Walia has said her department is trying its best to shift the inmates living at Tilak Vihar Old Age Home to Bindapur Old Age Home by August 1.

The Old Age Home at Bindapur will be ready by July 18 for shifting of the 40 inmates of Tilak Vihar Old Age Home.

Prof Walia, while visiting the Old Age Home Building at Bindapur, instructed the officers of DSIIDC to complete the uplift work and all necessary arrangements for the old age inmates by July 18 positively, an official statement said today.

Prof Walia informed that the old age home constructed by the DSIIDC in 2005 at Tilak Vihar has developed cracks in the building and as per observation of the Chief Engineer, PWD, the building is unsafe and not fit for habitation.

The building is almost complete but it has not been handed over to Department of Social Welfare on account of final alteration, additions as per the requirement of the department.

She further said the government is fully concerned about the welfare of the old age persons in the capital and trying its best to provide them with all facilities in the Old Age Home.

Apart from Tilak Vihar Old Age Home, this new Old Age Home at Bindapur will soon be ready and a new home at Kanti Nagar will also be constructed for the capacity of 100 people, the Minister added. (UNI -Posted on / )
