SBT launches Green Channel Counter

Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 28 : In yet another value-added service to its customers, the State Bank of Travancore (SBT) today launched a Green Channel Counter (GCC), an innovative step towards eco-friendly, paperless banking, to make Kerala more greener.

GCC leverages on its state-of-the-art technology in banking, reducing customer transaction time and avoiding pay-in-slips, cheques and challans, thereby enriching customer delight and satisfaction, an SBT release said here.

Cash Deposit, Cash Withdrawal and Funds transfer are the facilities now available through GCC with a transaction limit of Rs 40,000 per transaction. The customer need not fill up any forms nor get tokens and stand in the queues. A printed receipt will be given to the customer indicating the transactions put through the GCC.

The customer can avail the GCC facility at the front office bank counter, through a specially designed Transaction Processing Device, by swiping his ATM Debit Card and entering his PIN.

This unique and novel way of banking was launched by SBT Managing Director P Nanda Kumaran, at its Kowdiar Branch in the presence of Bank's Chief General Manager S Balachandran.

The GCC facility will be extended to other branches in a phased manner, the release added. (UNI)
