Wipro unveils cloud solution for HR processes

Bangalore, Jan 23: Wipro Technologies Monday unveiled a cloud-based IT solution to help enterprises transform their human resources (HR) processes on the Oracle middleware platform.

The IT bellwether will offer the product "Wipro SprintHR" to enterprises as a SaaS (software as a service) model on demand, using the Oracle fusion human capital management application to reduce cost and deployment timelines.

"Managing talent is critical to any business and there is need for rapid deployment of right solutions to help enterprises optimally leverage their human capital," Wipro vice-president Raja Ukil said in a statement here.

The product not only helps enterprises deploy a comprehensive human capital management (HCM) system, but also provides the latest features and functionalities of Oracle application with low risk and flexible options.

The HR processes include talent management, benefit management and core human resources administration.

"By choosing a subscription model, enterprises can shift from a capital intensive to a predictable operating expense model with limited investments required in advance," Ukil said.

"In a changing business environment, HR organisations are responding by building 21st century operations through the adoption of new technologies, strategies and models," Oracle HCM strategy vice-president Gretchen Alarcon said in the statement.

With cloud computing becoming a major driver of innovation, the global software major will help clients adopt and integrate the Oracle-based product into their enterprise systems.

According to a report by the global technology and market research firm Forrester, the SaaS market represents the largest public cloud market, with USD 21 billion revenues in 2011.

"By 2016, SaaS will have total revenues of USD 93 billion, accounting for 26 percent of the global packaged software market," Ukil added. (IANS)
