Karnataka govt to hold cabinet meet in Gulbarga

Gulbarga, Jan 6 : The Karnataka government will hold its cabinet meeting in Gulbarga shortly, Major irrigation and Gulbarga district incharge Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.

Speaking to reporters yesterday, he said he had been discussing with Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda in this matter.

The minister was on a visit to attend the taluk level review meeting at Sedam.

Mr Bommai, a Yeddyurappa loyalist, said the party central leadership will take the final decision on reinstatement of the former chief minister who had to bow out of the office on corruption charges but was now working overtime to get back to the Chief Minister's post.

He said the proposed public meeting in Tumkur, to be attended by Mr Yeddyurappa, will not only show his political strength but was called to discuss the development of the sate.

He said the government had taken various steps to ease the situation in the drought-hit district and there was no let up in the relief work. (UNI)
