Shimoga, Jan 5 : Karnataka state BJP unit president K S Eshwarappa today urged President Pratibha Devisingh Patil to accord consent for the proposed Anti-Slaughter Bill sent by the Karnataka government.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Eshwarappa alleged that Congress-led UPA Government was adopting discriminatory attitude towards the BJP government in Karnataka on several counts.
''Such a bill has already implemented in seven states, including the states where Congress Government is in power, after the President gave consent to those states,'' he said.
He alleged that Governer H R Bhardwaj was showing 'step-motherly' attitude towards Karnataka government by not signing to the proposed bill.
Regarding the Sub-Quota bill proposed by the Centre, Mr Eshwarappa said shortly all party delegation would meet the Centre to urge not to pass the said bill.
He refused to comment on the bickering between him and former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa but said whatever directions the party central leadership gave, he would obey it. ''I will also work according to the advise of Sangh Parivar,'' he added. (UNI)
