BJP receives yet another jolt

Bangalore, Jan 2: Ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Legislator from Mudigere M P Kumaraswamy today announced his decision to quit, frustrated over the treatment meted out to him.

Talking to newspersons here, he said ''I have decided to quit as I am frustrated over the treatment meted out to me in the Party.

Nobody is coming to my rescue.'' ''Since Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah is away in Madikeri, I will submit my resignation to him tomorrow. You can see the resignation letter and I will not go back on my decision,'' he added flashing the resignation letter.

Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, who is on a tour of Kodagu district, had advised Mr Kumaraswamy not to take any hasty decision party sources said.

Mr Kumaraswamy's move comes at a time when the party leaders were trying to resolve the differences between State President K S Eshwarappa and former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa with the latter, a few days ago accusing Mr Eswrappa of being responsible for sending him to jail and removal from the post of Chief Minister.
