Industrialist killed in car accident

Mysore, Dec 30 : An industrialist and his son were killed on the spot and four others sustained injuries when their car hit a wayside coconut tree near Rudrakshipura Gate on the Mysore-Bangalore highway, 7 km from Maddur in Mandya district, early today.

Police said the deceased have been identified as K S Krishna Setty (87), Chairman of Kaparthy InfoTech Pvt Ltd, Kaparthy Family Public Charitable Trust and proprietor of Krishna Poultry Farm in Bogadi. He was also a former Deputy Director of Agriculture.

The other victim was K K Ramesh Babu (54), son of Krishna Setty.

He was a retired Assistant Executive Engineer, President of Mysore Poultry Farmers' Club and Director of Kaparthy InfoTech Pvt Ltd.

The mishap occurred when the driver of the car, returning to the city from Tirupati reportedly fell asleep and rammed into the tree.

While Nagarathnamma, wife of Krishna Setty, shattered her knee, Rama Devi, wife of Ramesh Babu, who sustained serious injuries, was still in a critical condition. Ramesh and Rama Devi's daughter Anusha sustained a fracture while the driver Sheshanna escaped with minor injuries.

All the injured have been admitted to the private hospital in city. (UNI)
